Our first instinct when seeing an insect is to kill. But there are a few that should be left alone. They do no harm and help keep our eco-structure in balance.

American Household Spiders

Many people fear spiders, but mainly because they look scarier than they really are. Some, such as Black widows and brown recluse spiders are harmful, but common house spiders won’t. They can actually be helpful since they feed on other insects.  Of course, if you have an infestation, call us!

Bees

Bees are dying in record numbers. Not only is this of concern to honey lovers, but it’s a big fear among the agriculture industry. Bees help to pollinate plants, including our own South Florida crops.

If a hive is forming on your property call us. We can direct you to a beekeeper who will move the beehive.

Ladybugs
How many of us loved to see a ladybug land and let it crawl on our fingers for closer inspection? Some say it’s a sign of luck. Enjoy their visit and let them go. Ladybugs also keep other insects in check, particularly in the garden. Adults and larvae feed on soft-bodied pests like aphids before they are able destroy garden plants.

Praying Mantis

There is an urban legend that it’s illegal to kill a Praying Mantis. While that may not be true, it is a harmless insect that will kill any insect it catches (including, sadly, ladybugs!) and do no harm to humans or pets. Actually, some keep them as pets!
